Professor Annette Pritchard has a professional background in tourism and sport development, research and strategy and marketing at Sport Wales and the Wales Tourist Board. Annette has held senior academic posts and professorial titles in universities in the UK and Europe and was formerly Director of Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Welsh Centre for Tourism Research (2000-2017). She has written extensively on marketing and management in tourism and on tourism and equality (including 19 books), supervised 20 PhD students and examined over 40 others in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Annette is an Associate Editor of the Annals of Tourism Research, a Co-Founder of the Critical Tourism Studies Network and Conference Series and Founding Member of the International Place Branding Association. She has delivered over 30 major research and consultancy projects for organisations including UNESCO, the BBC, and Visit Wales. She is currently providing counsel to the Wales Tourism Alliance and evaluating the tourism impacts of the Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Build Project for the Isle of Anglesey County Council.
